Downtown Richmond’s City Center Innovation District is located in the northern portion of downtown and bordered between N. 3rd Street to the west, I95 to the north, N. 10th Street to the east and W. Broad Street to the south.
City Center has been a place of transition and change over time. The VA Bio+Tech Park is a dynamic life sciences and emerging technologies community located in the City Center Innovation District downtown. The Park began construction in 1992 and is now home to nearly 70 companies, including UNOS and Altria headquarters. It’s adjacent to VCU Health, a “Top 100″ life sciences research university. In 2010, VCU Health began their unprecedented expansion in City Center, which continues today with the 2023 opening of the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU’s Children’s Tower. The City Center Innovation District also includes Reynolds Community College, Greater Richmond Convention Center, John Marshall Courts Building, Richmond’s City Hall and the Library of Virginia.
Just as the name says, City Center is in the middle of it all, minutes from everything!
